Wellesworth is proud to be an ECO school. 

WHAT IS THE ECO-SCHOOL? WHAT IS AN ECO TEAM?
A team that goes around and makes sure our school believes in ECO, acts ECO and thinks ECO. ECO to us means that we are aware of our ecology and we try at Wellesworth to do our part.

WHAT WE DO
* make sure lights are turned off

* use milk bags to weave blankets

*make sure garbage and recycling are in the right bins

* we do waste audits
* we make posters
* we educate people about how they can take care of the earth
* WE HAVE FUN

SPECIAL INITIATIVES
1. We reduce garbage by recycling our markers.
2. We would like to reduce our waste by having more students use reusable containers in their lunches. We are working with the nutrition program to accomplish this.

Some of our initiatives are:

• student-led recycling
• student-led composting
• reusing before recycling
• monthly school-wide updates at our assemblies
• action based on feedback through our ideas box
• lights-off
