The Toronto District School Board and Toronto Catholic District School Board are experiencing school bus delays. In particular, parents of students who use Attridge Transportation, Wheelchair Accessible Transit or Sharp Bus Lines should expect significant delays and the possibility that some buses may not be running due to an unanticipated bus driver shortage. We are working to fix this issue as soon as possible.

Dear Parents, Guardians and Caregivers:

I would like to invite you to join me and our literacy team in making a difference in the lives of our children here at the Downtown Vocal Music Academy and Ryerson Community School by supporting us in the Indigo Adopt a School program.

From September 18 – October 9, 2016 we are excited to have been adopted by Indigospirit; 1st Canadian Place. This means that our library will be the benefactor of their instore fundraising and our additional community support through the online fundraising platform.

There are two ways that our community can support our school. Through Book Bonus or Tell a Story, Give a Story. Through the Indigo Adopt a School program all fund raised go directly to that participating schools.

Please visit from September 18 to October 9, 2016 to show your support for our library! Please share this link with your family, friends and colleagues.

I look forward to your support.

Ryerson Community School

Ryerson Community School is located on Denison Avenue in the heart of Toronto's Chinatown, and on the south side of Kensington Market, in the former City of Toronto. We are located beside the Sanderson Branch of the Toronto Public Library. We opened our doors in 1877, and have undergone many structural, cultural and social changes since then.

In partnership with home and community, Ryerson Community School strives to provide a safe, caring and equitable learning environment that enables and challenges all members of our diverse school community to reach their full academic, social and emotional potential. Every child who attends will be valued and respected and have every opportunity to become a successful life-long learner and a responsible member of our society.

As part of the Toronto District School Board, we value:

  • each and every student;
  • a strong public education system;
  • a partnership of students, schools, family and community;
  • the uniqueness and diversity of our students and our community;
  • the commitment and skills of our staff;
  • equity, innovation, accountability and accessibility; and
  • learning environments that are safe, nurturing, positive and respectful.

Our web site is one way we can demonstrate these values. Click on the menu items to find out more about our school and please visit often.
