Circular Drive and the School Parking Lot
Parked cars and dropping off children continue to be safety issues. Alexmuir is a community school. If you wish to bring your child to school we ask that you walk rather than drive. This will minimize the traffic concerns at the front of the school and promote physical activity. Students who walk to school often cross at the entrance of the parking lot and in the cross walk area. Their safety if imperative to us.
If you absolutely must drive your child to school or pick your child up at the end of the day, please use the circular driveway at the front of the school. Drive to the end of the circular driveway and let your child out at the curb. Please do not stop in the middle of the lane. Driving in an organized manner will minimize our safety concerns. The parking lot is NOT a drop off nor pick up spot. It is ONLY for staff.
Please remind your child that they must exit the car as safely as possible when being dropped off because cars are continually moving in the circular driveway. Once students have been dropped off they proceed along the school sidewalk into the school yard.
If you need to park your car, please park on Alexmuir Blvd. north of the school or on the east side of the street and walk your child into the school yard.
