Safe Arrival

Safe Arrival

It is extremely important that all children learn the value and importance of being punctual and attending classes regularly. As these are lifelong skills, we would ask that you assist and support us in reinforcing their importance with your child.

Each school in the TDSB has a Safe Arrival Program.  If your child is absent, the school will contact you to determine the reason for their absence to ensure that all students are safe and accounted for.  The TDSB has implemented an automated call out system, SchoolConnects.  If your child is absent and you have not informed the school with a reason, then the SchoolConnects system will call you.

You can help the school to ensure the safety of your child in the following ways:

If your child will be absent for any reason, call the school at 416-396-6025 before 9:00 a.m. and leave a message.  In your message, please include your child’s name, teacher, the date and the reason for the absence.

If you do receive an automated call, listen to the entire message and press 2 to CONFIRM receipt at the end of the message.  If you hang up or do not confirm, the system will continue to call.

There is no option to say if the absence is full or half day.  You will receive BOTH a morning AND an afternoon call.  To avoid multiple calls, contact the school and let us know if your child will be absent FULL or HALF day.  We can input directly into the system to stop the afternoon call out if we know the reason for your child's absence.

The only way to stop the LATE call out in the evening is to get your child to school on time.  If you child is LATE for school either morning or afternoon, you will receive an automated message.  There is no other option to stop LATE calls.

The safety of your child is of prime importance. Please ensure that all contact numbers for you and anyone else involved with your child are up to date. Please inform the school immediately if any of the contacts or phone numbers change.
