Lunchroom

Lunchroom

It is important that all children feel comfortable and safe during the school day, including snack and lunch times. Therefore, due to the increasing prevalence of nut allergies, please DO NOT SEND ANY PRODUCTS THAT MAY CONTAIN NUTS INTO THE SCHOOL AT ANY TIME.

It is always best for students to get a break from school and eat lunch at home.  Due to the limited facilities and supervision, the lunch program is designed for students who come to Alexmuir by bus or for students who have no one at home over the lunch hour and for whom no other arrangements can be made. Parents must complete, sign and return a lunch form to the school office. If you have indicated that your child must stay at school for lunch, you must provide a note if your child needs to leave the school during lunch time.

Please emphasize with your child the importance of good behaviour and a respectful attitude towards the lunchroom supervisors.  On inclement days, students will remain inside the gym reading, watching a video or playing quiet games.

Lunchroom Code of Conduct

To ensure a safe place to eat, the lunchroom has a Code of Conduct that students must follow.  Students who do not follow the Code of Conduct may have the privilege of eating at school withdrawn.

1.  Bring a litterless lunch (See Boomerang Lunch notice below).

2.  Enter and exit in an orderly manner.

3.  Raise your hand if you need to use the washroom, get a drink or need help.

4.  Stop and listen when a supervisor claps the rhythm to get your attention.

5  It’s up to everyone to keep the gym clean and tidy.
6. Stay on school grounds.

Please ensure that your child’s name is on his/her lunch bag.
