Birchmount Exceptional Athlete Program (BEAP)
BEAP is a unique TDSB Central Student Interest Program that supports student athletes, integrating academics with a rigorous athletic training program. BEAP is the only Exceptional Athlete program in the TDSB. Students in the program are dedicated and willing to do the extra physical and academic work needed to achieve their sport and educational goals. Superb training facilities are provided at school as well as at Variety Village.
Developmental Disabilities Program @ BPCI
Our program for students with Developmental Disabilities includes 6 intensive support classes, staffed by Special Education Teachers, Educational Assistants, Special Needs Assistants, Lunchroom Supervisors and a Child and Youth Worker. The curriculum covers Functional Academics, Social Skills, Physical Education, Life Skills and Experiential Learning.
Gifted Program @ BPCI
The Gifted Program offers courses in core subject areas, including English, History, Geography, Math, Science and French. Gifted classes at BPCI are self-contained and the curriculum is accommodated to meet the learning needs of gifted students. Course delivery is differentiated by breadth in that the content explores broad-based themes, and by depth and pace of topics. Inquiry-based learning organized around essential questions is a general focus of the program.
