Days of Significance: Passover is a major Jewish holiday and one of the Three Pilgrimage Festivals. It celebrates the Exodus of the Israelites from slavery in Egypt.
Easter Monday marks the second day of Eastertide, the period of celebration following Easter Sunday, and is a time to reflect on the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the promise of new life.
Earth Day is an annual event on April 22 to demonstrate support for environmental protection. First held on April 22, 1970, it now includes a wide range of events coordinated globally through earthday.org including 1 billion people in more than 193 countries.
B.S.A. - Greetings Bowmore, the BSA is bringing African Drumming workshops to all Bowmore students this spring. We kindly ask all staff and students to support the BSA by ordering patties and doubles through the pre-order Google form provided by your teacher. The Lunch Counter will take place on Friday April 25. Place your orders no later than Wednesday April 23. Place your order today. Thank you for your attention and your support.
This is today’s Caring and Safe Schools reminder - Students when you need to use the washroom:
• Grades 1 to 6, please go with a partner.
• Grades 7 and 8, you may go on your own. Only one person or one pair should go at a time.
If you notice there's no soap or paper in the washroom, please tell your teacher right away. More details will follow soon. Thank you for helping keep our school safe and clean!
Mr. Lall - Bowmore Cricket Teams: This Spring, Bowmore will have three cricket teams; there will be an all gender Jr team, a grade 8 senior team and a grade 6-8 ALL Girls team. Any students interested in trying out for one of these teams please meet TODAY at lunch in room 305 for a brief meeting.
Ms. Jarvis - Forest of Reading: Just a reminder that tomorrow is the big day…. We will vote for our favourite Forest of Reading books. Silver Birch and Red Maple book clubs, please come to the library at lunch time to place your vote. All primary classes who participated, please be sure you have signed up for your voting time slot.
