MUSICAL THEATRE
Since 2021, the Drama Department has put on very successful and highly professional musicals within the Musical Theatre Course: Chicago, West Side Story, Grease, Mean Girls, and this year, we are doing Hadestown.
The Musical Theatre Production course is a credited course and the majority of the rehearsals happen during the school day. Every year, we have over 60 students involved. Students perform and run all technical aspects. The shows are OUTSTANDING and perform to sold out audiences 4 days straight every year! Musical theatre is open to anyone - no prerequisites required.
The Drama Program also offers incredible extra-curricular programming:
NTS DramaFest (formerly known as Sears Drama Festival)
The NTS Drama Fest: DMCI's National Theatre School Drama Festival Group, has won over 50 competitive awards for their student-created and produced productions. DMCI students have been creating their own shows since 2014 and have been involved in the festival ever since.
Mainstage
DMCI also produces high calibre mainstage shows. Recently we have done: The Addams Family, Almost Maine, and The One Act Play That Goes Wrong, all to sold out audience.
