Dance-A-Thon: Our annual dance-a-thon is happening on Monday, December 17. Students from all grades will participate in a glow-in-the-dark dance party in the gym to celebrate a wonderful first term at Eglinton!

The dance-a-thon is a fundraiser for School Council.  Our Council fundraises to enrichment programs, technology, and materials for the school. If you are able, we would appreciate if you could collect pledges from friends and family.  Students received a bag and green form this week.  Please collect all cash and cheques and return in by Friday, December 14 to the school. Sponsors can also donate online at
www.professorjamz.com/eglinton.  You can also support the school by sending your child with money to purchase items from the Cosmic Store to wear at the dance.  Items range from $1-$5.

If you would like to volunteer to help at this event, please email
eglintonparents@gmail.com. We need volunteers in 1-hour shifts to help at the Cosmic Store.

Ms. Gorman’s Library Newsletter: Does Eglinton have a Silver Birch Reading Club? How many books can a parent sign out of the Library?  If you need answers to these questions (and more) please read Ms. Gorman’s December 2018 Library Newsletter.

Room 301’s Sock Drive: Please donate your single socks to help the homeless! In November 2015, two elementary students in the TDSB started the Odd-Sox Project. They collected single socks and turned them into pairs to donate to those in need. You can help by dropping off your new or gently used, clean single socks in the bin in the foyer. At the end of the sock drive, the socks will be delivered to a shelter for homeless youth. We will be collecting socks until December 20th. If you would like more information about this project, go to www.odd-sox.org. The students in Room 301(Mme. Savelli) thank you for your donations.

Universal Screening of Grade 3 Students: At the beginning of October, all Grade 3 students across the TDSB participated in the TDSB Universal Screening Process for Grade 3 students by writing the Canadian Cognitive Abilities Test 7 (CCAT 7). We have received the individual results for our Grade 3 students and will be sending them home next week.  These individual results do not affect a student’s progress report or report card.
