Literacy Enrichment Academic Program (LEAP)
Welcome to the LEAP program at Elmbank JMA! The LEAP program offers intensive support to students in the junior and intermediate grades with a focus on building literacy and numeracy skills. Students' level of instruction is continually adjusted to their Reading and Math levels based on periodic assessment and evaluation. Instruction is differentiated according to students' interests and needs. The LEAP program is intended to help students in English language development, literacy and numeracy skills, and academic skills and knowledge, so that they can successfully integrate into the mainstream program.
Students are taught: Language and Math. They join other classes at their grade level for French, Science, Social Studies, Drama/Dance, Gym, Health, and Music.
Assistive technology is used on a daily basis. This includes computers, tablets, and an interactive white board to help students who have different learning styles.
