At Elmbank JMA, our goal is to create a school environment that is safe and maintains the physical, social and emotional well being of all, by:
- Interrupting the behaviour - Bullying prevention will be enforced by ALL staff members. All staff will employ a direct, clear and firm approach for unacceptable behaviour with an emphasis on problem solving and student accountability. Staff will use behaviour and classroom management practices, which are consistent with our aims of bullying prevention.
- Students taking positive action -Students will help each other deal with bullying in an appropriate manner. Students, who are being bullied or know of someone being bullied, need to immediately report it to a staff member.
- Staff and students providing an inclusive environment where everyone values mindfulness, and each other’s positive contribution to Elmbank JMA
- Developing an emphasis on equity and anti-oppressive education to create a caring, supportive and mindful community within the school.
- Cyberbullying – will be acted upon by school staff, families, the authorities, and will not be tolerated.
