SAFETY, RESPECT, RESPONSIBILITY, EFFORT and EFFORT are the underpinnings of all Elmbank interactions. The Toronto District School Board expects its learners and employees and the community to respect the dignity and fundamental rights of every individual.

Elmbank has a Code of Conduct. The rules and routines in this Code of Conduct reflect and comply with the policies of the Toronto District School Board and the Ministry of Education. Violation of the school’s Code of Conduct shall result in a progressive discipline process that may eventually lead to suspension. Every effort shall be made to use alternatives to suspension such as contracting, conferencing, restitution, mediation, restorative justice, community service, meta-cognitive strategies, withdrawal from certain activities/programs and so on. Every student's actions will be considered on an individual basis and all mitigating factors will be taken into consideration.
