Balanced Day

In September of this school year (2019) a balanced schedule continues at Elmbank JMA . Here is a quick reminder of how our day works:

Morning School bell goes at 8:33

Entry time is from 8:35 to 8:40

1st Nutrition Break is from 10:15 – 10:45

2nd Nutrition Break is from 12:25 – 1:15

Dismissal time

2:55 JK to Grade 8

Supervision Information

Please note, there is supervision of all children 15 minutes before start time, from 8:20am - 8:35am and after school from 2:55pm - 3:10pm. Parents/Guardians, babysitters are asked to pick up Grade 1-8 students on time outside at EXIT 3, and Kindergarten children at Exit 6.

Safe Arrival, Late Arrival

Call 416-394-7560 x20000  if your child is going to be late or absent; children who do not stop to pick up a late slip at the Office may be marked absent; so, please encourage them always to get a late slip.

Note that phones automatically switch to night service from 3:30 p.m. - 8:00 a.m. so that only messages may be left; no one is available to answer the phones. School Office opens at 8:00 and closes at 4:00pm..

At the end of the school day it is important to pick up your children outside their exit doors. Students cannot wait in the school as there is no supervision. Siblings pick up their younger brothers and sisters outside by the exit that the younger ones use. Grades 1-8 use Exit 3; Kindergarten students use Exit 6.

Students do not enter or exit via the front doors or Exit A doors at the parking lot (this is a dangerous and busy area without supervision). All students exit out their designated exit to be picked up by parents/guardians/ babysitters/brothers and sisters.

Students who remain in the school for the 2nd Nutrition Break are supervised. When students are permitted to leave school during the 2nd Break, they are not supervised. We encourage parents to provide lunch and have children remain on school property to ensure adequate supervision.

Student Nutrition

All students receive a healthy snack they can eat during Nutrition Break each day. Our Snack Mom, Ms. Powell, keeps all students well fed and keeps Elmbank on the right path to Well Being For All.
