Principal's Message

Welcome to the 2020~2021 school year at Forest Hill Collegiate. We face unprecedented challenges this year but we are very excited about reconnecting with our school community. We are a school steeped in tradition, but it is exciting to look at our plans through a new lens and see new possibilties for our staff and students.

Forest Hill Collegiate Institute has a 70-year history of strong academic tradition. Daily activities support students as they prepare for future experiences in education or the workplace. Forest Hill CI has built a reputation for high academic standards and a caring environment that helps students set and reach their goals. Our teachers partner with students to make sure their learning is authentic, engaging and connected to the real world around them. Regular contact with parents/guardians and providing ongoing feedback about student progress is a hallmark of FHCI.

Course offerings are regularly reviewed to ensure that engaging and vibrant programs are available for all our students regardless of their future pathway--apprenticeship, college, university or the work place.

We offer excellent programming for English Language Learners; over 60 countries are represented by our students. We are very proud of and are enriched by the diversity within our student body.

With a student population of approximately 800, there is something for everyone. We offer formal leadership opportunities through Prefects, Student Council, Athletic Council, and Music Directorate programs. We work extremely hard to make sure our students have opportunities to make a contribution to FHCI,  whether that is through clubs or school activities. We encourage students to participate in clubs and to start a new club if there is an interest in a unique area. Equally valued are leaders without title, those who demonstrate the way we support and mentor each other.
