Yearbook Distribution – Monday, June 20 – Period 1

On Monday, June 20, yearbooks will be distributed to all students in their Period 1 class.  All students will receive a yearbook this year.  It is through the generous donations of our school community that funds were raised to provide every student with a celebratory yearbook. If a student is absent from their Period 1 class or has a spare, yearbooks may be picked up from the main office before school, at lunch or after school.  Thank you to Ms. Neumann and the Forester team for putting together a fabulous yearbook!

National Indigenous Peoples Day – Tuesday, June 21

During the month of June, the TDSB recognizes National Indigenous Peoples Day on Tuesday, June 21. Many First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples celebrate the Summer Solstice on this day when the Sun travels along its northernmost path and is the longest day of the year.  It is a time that reminds us to remain grounded, humble and appreciative. It is usually celebrated by coming together with family and community for a feast of traditional foods which signify a connection to the land and animals. This day is of great significance for many Indigenous Peoples in the country we call Canada today.

Locker Clean Out – Tuesday, June 21 – Period 1

Students will be provided with time during period 1 on Tuesday, June 21 to clean out their lockers.  All personal items, locks and perishables need to be removed.  To support with this, period 1 teachers will provide students with time during period 1.  Extra garbage bins will be made available in the hallways.

The deadline to remove all items and locks is Friday, June 24. Any locks or items found in lockers after Friday will be disposed of.  Thank you for supporting with this end of year task.

Community Service Hours – Graduating Students Must Submit by June 23

Worth Mentioning Again…

Class of 22 Grad Caps Were Distributed – Monday, June 13 During Period 1

All grade 12 students received a FHCI graduation baseball cap on Monday, June 13 during period 1.  Grade 12 students who are absent or have a spare during period 1 may pick their cap up from the Main Office at lunch or after school for the remainder of this coming week.

Culminating Activities Begin – Tuesday, June 7

Students began Culminating Activities/Tasks on Tuesday, June 7.  All students will be expected to complete a Culminating Activity for each of their courses.  Some tasks will be completed in class while others will be taken home.  In order to align with semester 1 the value of the tasks range from 10% to 30%.  See Culminating Activity Calendar for details.

As in semester 1, these activities replace exams.  All students are expected to be present during in-class activities when the activity is scheduled to take place in-class.  If activities are being taken home, all activities are due on the date indicated on the calendar by the subject teacher.  Similar to exams if an activity is missed a mark of zero will be awarded. Please refer to the Forest Hill CI - Student Handbook 2021/2022 page 14 for details.

Memorial Park Stormwater Management Partnership Project

The City of Toronto’s Midtown Toronto Storm Sewer Relief Project involves construction of an underground stormwater storage tank and a pumping station at Memorial Park. This work is part of the City of Toronto’s Basement Flooding Protection Program to help reduce the risk of future basement flooding. What does this mean for Forest Hill Collegiate?  Memorial Park is where our track, football field and baseball diamond are located.  These facilities may be unavailable to our students for at least four years.

The TDSB, Toronto Lands Corporation and the City are working towards an agreement that permits the City of Toronto to use TDSB lands at North Preparatory JPS and Memorial Park.  A public information meeting was held on May 26.  Find out more by linking to:
