Mac in Action (MIA) is Macdonald’s student-run philanthropic and volunteer council consisting of eight committed student-leaders. We strive to make our world a better place by providing volunteering services to the community and plentiful donations, such as food and money, to charity organizations. Every year, we help over 500 Macdonald students complete their required community service hours as well as fundraises for those in need. This year, MIA decided to support the Tower Youth Program, the victims of Typhoon Haiyan and the Alternative Income & Livelihood Project with Free the Children. In addition, we promote social justice by raising awareness about various global issues, encouraging action in our entire student body.
Like Margret Mead said, “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.”
Help us help you be the change. Feel free to drop by our office doors (south of the main office) during lunch for volunteer opportunities. Volunteer with Mac In Action now!
