Parents or guardians should make certain that children leave home early enough to arrive at school on time in the morning and the afternoon.

If a child is to be absent or late, parents/guardians should contact the school office at (416) 394-7950 before 8:15 a.m. and before 12:15 p.m. and leave a message which includes the following information:

• The name of the child (spoken clearly)
• The name of the child’s teacher and room number
• The reason for the absence
• To assist parents/guardians in contacting the school, there is a telephone message system operational during hours that the school office is closed. From 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. school office staff is available to receive calls.

As soon as a child is identified as unaccounted for, the principal or designate will attempt to contact the parent/guardian of each child. Every effort will be made to contact the parent/guardian at both home and business telephone numbers, and if the parent/guardian cannot be reached, the childcare or relative will be contacted.
