Monday April 18th: Walk to School Day and D.P. A.
At 1 p.m. there was a 10 minute school wide D. P. A. At this time music was played over the P.A. system. Teachers had students exercise in the classroom or in the hallway.
Tuesday April 19th: The Great Gulp
At 1:00 p.m. there was an announcement over the P. A. that provided information about the negative effects that plastic water bottles have on the environment and encouraged the use of reusable water bottles as a better green alternative. After that all teachers and students cheered and thanked the Earth for the water she provides and took a drink from their reusable water bottles.
Wednesday April 20th: Movie Day and Bring In Batteries, Old markers and Plastic bags
Grade 1 and 2 students were invited to watch the movie The Lorax. The movie gives an environmental message how we should be stewards to the Earth.
Grades 3, 4 and 5 watched the movie Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. This movie demonstrates how human actions can have an impact on the environment.
Batteries and markers were also collected throughout the week.
Thursday April 21st: Building Challenge
Teachers and students participated in a cooperative team building challenge using recyclable and reusable materials and newspapers. This activity promoted an understanding that when working as a group anything is possible. We can help save and protect the Earth if we all work together.

Friday April 22nd: Green Day/ Earth Day Assembly
Staff and students wore Green to celebrate Earth Day. There was a whole school celebration at 1 p.m. Everyone participated in a community/ school clean up.
