Dramatic Arts
The MCI Drama department provides students with the opportunity to explore a variety of theatrical disciplines, while developing skills that will help them be successful not only in the classroom but also in the real world. Furthermore, students work collaboratively to create original and published pieces.
Diverse programming allows students to gain experience in acting, directing, script writing, improvisation, mask, lighting and sound design, set design and construction, hair, make-up, and costume design and creation.
The Drama department prides itself on the diversity of its students. Some students take drama to participate in a fun elective while others wish to pursue theater at a post-secondary and/or professional level.
Extra-curricular opportunities are available through the AFC (Auditorium Facilities Crew) learning how to operate theatre sound and lighting, as well as in the MSC (Martingrove Stage Company) an enthusiastic group of students that manage, direct, and star in the annual theatrical production.
