Health & Physical Education at Martingrove C.I
Key goals of the health and physical education program include the following:
- have each student participate regularly in a wide variety of physical activities
- improve each student's level of physical fitness
- provide each student with the health and knowledge required to make healthy decisions
- challenge each student to improve communications, decision-making and problem-solving skills
- empower each student to increase control over physical, social and mental/emotional well-being.
Martingrove’s Health and Physical Education department's overall objective is to promote lifelong healthy active living for all students.
The department offers a wide range of activities and fitness courses with the aim of appealing to a variety of students. In the senior grades, college and university courses are available for students interested in careers in recreation, fitness, health promotion, kinesiology or the health sciences.
