Students learn about active and passive solar energy in this program. While conducting experiments using photovoltaic cells, students investigate the generation of electricity using solar energy. Passive solar energy is collected in solar ovens, and students adjust the position of the solar ovens as they monitor the temperature while baking cookies. Students investigate wind as an alternative source of renewable energy.
