Parent Council Poinsettia Sales
The holiday season is almost upon us and it's time to think about purchasing a beautiful poinsettia. The
Poinsettia 2015.pdf campaign is also a fine method to support parent-initiated fund-raising. Please consider doing so with this
Poinsettia Order Form 2015.pdf.
Children's Book Bank
We are currently collecting gently used children/young adult books in support of The Children’s Book Bank. The Children's Book Bank is a registered charity that supports childhood literacy by providing free books and literacy support to children in low-income neighbourhoods in the Toronto area.
From Canada’s first storefront “book bank” in the Regent Park area of Toronto, The Children’s Book Bank collects and distributes gently used children’s books and distributes them free of charge to children who might not otherwise have a chance to own their own books. The Children’s Book Bank opened its doors in May 2008 and in its first five years of operation gave away over 400,000 free books!
Please help us fill up the basket in front of the main office by bringing in (or sending in with your daughter/son) any gently used books that your children no longer use at home.
With much thanks!

Braeburn Holiday Party
WITH ONLY 9 (NOT THAT WE’RE COUNTING OR ANYTHING!) SCHOOL DAYS LEFT BEFORE A MUCH DESERVED HOLIDAY BREAK, IT’S SO IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER THAT NO MATTER WHAT YOU CHOOSE TO CELEBRATE, THAT THE SPIRIT OF THE HOLIDAYS IS ABOUT GIVING FROM THE HEART.
THIS PAST SATURDAY A SPECIAL RICHVIEW TRADITION CONTINUED. THE ANNUAL BRAEBURN COMMUNITY PROGRAM KIDS’ PARTY WAS HELD HERE AT THE SCHOOL AND IT WAS AN AMAZING SUCCESS.
50 LITTLE ONES, AGES 5-12, DESCENDED UPON RICHVIEW WHERE STUDENT ELVES AWAITED THEM WITH CRAFTS, GINGERBREAD DECORATING (AND LOTS OF CANDY!), GYM ACTIVITIES, A SCAVENGER HUNT, AND A MOVIE – NOT TO MENTION SANTA!
THE SCHOOL WAS DECORATED, MUSIC WAS PLAYING, KIDS WERE DANCING, AND EVERYWHERE WAS A SEA OF SMILING FACES.
IT IS WITH MUCH GRATITUDE THAT WE THANK ALL OF YOU WHO SO KINDLY CONTRIBUTED GIFTS, CRAFT AND LUNCH ITEMS, AND MONETARY DONATIONS. IT IS BECAUSE OF YOUR GENEROSITY THAT THIS DAY IS EVEN POSSIBLE.
THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT AND MAY YOU ALL HAVE A FUN AND RESTFUL HOLIDAY BREAK!

& STAFF ADVISORS CARLA JOHNSTON AND CHRISTINE ZDEBIAK
