CONGRATULATIONS!
Our school hosted two incredible events over the past week: Frozen Sounds and the incredible Seussical the Musical! On December 17, staff, students, and families were treated to a show that featured music, art, improv, and more. This was a wonderful opportunity to showcase the talent and caring at school before heading off into the Winter Break.
Special mentions go out to Caitlin Hussey, Brian Chetwynd, and David Michaud for their incredible efforts as members of staff who helped bring
Seussical the Musical to life for four amazing shows! There was a huge cast of students, some teacher cameos, and a ton of work behind the scenes making sets, running audio, and doing tech. Audiences were delighted with the efforts of everyone involved. Amazing work!
UPDATE: MODIFIED CALENDAR REVIEW
At RH King Academy, we are committed to student well-being, mentorship, leadership, and high academic achievement. These priorities are reflected in all aspects of our programs, including mentorship, independent student work and group work, and extra help during the school day. Since the 2016-17 school year, this has also included a modified school year calendar with an early start and a November Wellness Week break.
Currently, RH King and the TDSB is in the process of reviewing the modified calendar so that a decision can be made regarding the school’s calendar ahead of the 2025-26 school year.
Our commitment to student well-being, mentorship, leadership, and high academic achievement will remain a focus for our school.
Confirmation of the 2025-26 calendar and School Day schedule will be shared on our website and with our community as soon as it is available.
GRADE 8 LEADERSHIP LOTTERY
The lottery application process has closed for the upcoming school year. If you applied and were accepted, you can now chose to accept the offer or decline. If you are on the lottery waitlist, you can check each week to see where your child may be and to see if there is significant movement. Thank you to everyone who applied to come to our school and we wish you the best of luck in the 2025/2026 school year!
