WELCOME MAYOR OLIVIA CHOW!
On January 7th, R.H. King Academy had a special visit from Toronto's Mayor, Olivia Chow. The visit was both to pay her respects to King's teacher, Mr. Rutherford, who recently passed away. Mayor Chow spoke with Mr. Rutherford's wife, Dorothy Kane, helped hand out food, met with students, spoke over the announcements, and finally met with the editors of the Kingsley Voice who have produced a special one-page edition of the paper for King's community to read and enjoy. The hardworking staff and students of R.H. King Academy put on a fabulous production of Into the Woods in December! This tremendous production was lovingly put on by a dedicated team of staff and students. Well done, everyone!

R.H. King's School Council is a dedicated group of parents, admin, and staff who meet on a regular basis to discuss all aspects of life at school and the well-being of staff and students. You are encouraged to get involved and to participate in any of the meetings that are held, both in-person and online.

Wellness Week & R.H. King's Unique Calendar
R.H. King Academy follows a unique calendar in the TDSB. As the first of its kind, the idea is to give students a much-needed break in November to allow them to rest, recharge, get caught up on work, do volunteer work, apply to university, or anything else that can help them focus on bettering their mental health for the challenges in high school.
