International Languages – Elementary/African Heritage Programs
As of Sept 2019, we will no longer be offering the integrated model in the International Languages – Elementary African Heritage (ILE/AH) Program. An optional after school ILE/AH program will be available to all JK to Grade 8 students, in schools that previously offered the integrated model. This program is designed to give students the opportunity to appreciate other cultures and learn additional languages of their choice. Classes run for 2.5 hours every week for 30 weeks from September to May. No previous knowledge of a language is required. Please note that a minimum of 23 students is required to open a class. More Information: ILE/AH – English and ILE/AH – Chinese.

Ryerson Community School is located on Denison Avenue in the heart of Toronto's Chinatown, and on the south side of Kensington Market, in the former City of Toronto. We are located beside the Sanderson Branch of the Toronto Public Library. We opened our doors in 1877, and have undergone many structural, cultural and social changes since then.

In partnership with home and community, Ryerson Community School strives to provide a safe, caring and equitable learning environment that enables and challenges all members of our diverse school community to reach their full academic, social and emotional potential. Every child who attends will be valued and respected and have every opportunity to become a successful life-long learner and a responsible member of our society.
