March Break School Closure

March break is fast approaching. The school will be closed for students from Saturday March 9th through Sunday March 17th. The school will reopen on Monday March 18th. Have a safe and enjoyable holiday.

Speech Arts Competition

Congratulations to Dylan, Mahesh and Riele who won the Speech Arts competition in our school. Our three representatives then went on to compete in the area finals. We are so proud of all our students.

Skate Night

Thank you to the over 200 people who came to our annual Skating Party. It was such a fun event. The arena staff said it was the busiest night they had all season!!!! Thank you to our parent volunteers for organizing the event, gathering and selling our home made goodies, and for helping supervise our students. I can’t wait until next year’s party.

Redevelopment Project

We are still waiting for Ministry of Education approval for our Redevelopment Project, but the BLU has started to come together with SERA, OPA, Fauntra and our Trustee to make sure we are on track.

The ministry Special Advisory Team, who is now supporting the TDSB operations area, has informed us that the prerequisite for Ministry of Education approval of TDSB Redevelopment Projects was the board approval of our capital deficit reduction plan. That was to happen at a Special Board Meeting that was unfortunately postponed.

As a result, ministry approval to proceed to the next stage for the Davisville redevelopment project (after Ministry of Education approval of the space template, the TDSB will move forward with a developer proposal call to select/approve a development partner) will not be forthcoming until mid-April at the earliest.

Mabels Fables Book Fair

  • Tuesday March 26th:  BROWSE DAY- Students attend the book fair with their class to see what books are available. Each student wishing to purchase a book will be given a wish list paper to record the information about the book to share with parents. Parents are encouraged to review the wish list and look on line to determine whether or not the book is a match for their child.
  • Wednesday March 27th: SALE DAY- The book fair opens for sales from 8 a.m. - 5:30 pm, closing for half an hour at lunch. Students will go with their classes during instructional time. Parents and siblings are welcome to join us after school hours.
  • Thursday March 28th: SALE DAY - The book fair will be open from 8 a.m. - noon.

There will be a French table catered to grades SK-3. There will be single copies of novels, and the French section will be special order only, i.e. the students purchase French books and order them and they will be delivered to the child's classroom 1-2 weeks after the book fair.

The table categories will be:

If you would like to volunteer at the book fair, please email Robyn Miller .
