Strength and Conditioning - General Training

High Knees

 

  • Develops strength and endurance of the hip flexors and quads
  • Stretches the hip extensors
  • Leads to longer strides for faster, more efficient running


 

High Skips

 

  • Develops powerful push-offs and greater knee lift
  • Develops strength, power and endurance of the quads, hamstrings and glutes
  • Leads to faster turnover, longer strides, delavyed muscle fatigue and prevention of "leg collapse"

 


 

Butt Kicks

 

  • Trains the hamstrings to contract forcefully as the feet strike the ground
  • Strengthens the hamstrings
  • Leads to quicker lifting and swinging of each leg, increases turnover rate and helps prevent injury.
