If students are experiencing any mental health issues, they are always welcome to make an appointment with their guidance counsellor.  Guidance Counsellor information is posted under the “Student Services” tab on the AYJ website.


AY Jackson also has some groups that help with mental health, such as Inspiring Minds. There is also a Child and Youth Worker and a Social Worker who are at the school on select days.  Students can speak to their guidance counsellor about a possible referral for extra support.


If the problem is more urgent, then students should go to the main office and tell the secretary there is an urgent mental health issue and the secretary will contact the relevant staff member(s).


For all mental health issues, students are also strongly encouraged to seek help from community resources such as their family doctor, hospitals, or clinics such as:
