Settlement Workers in Schools (SWIS), offers settlement services to newly arrived families at Beverley Heights Middle School. Our school Settlement Worker, Mehrraz Ahngar will work with families to help them with the settlement process. Mehrraz is available Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 4pm.

Dear Parents and Guardians,
I wish to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you. I am the School Settlement Worker (SEPT worker) who will be working in your school. My role is to assist newcomer students and their families to settle in Canada by providing information and referral services in matters concerning:
- Immigration Issues (Applying for child Tax Benefit, Renewing PR, Citizenship application and etc.)
- English/French programs
- Health Care Information
- Housing Information
- Employment programs information
- Legal Matters Information
- Library programs
- Recreation, after school and summer programs
- And of course …Education
The services are FREE and confidential for both parents and students.
I am here working with you toward the same goal, that is the success of the students and the settlement of our families. If you need to contact me or you need to refer any parents and friends, please do so. I will be happy to work with you.
I do speak English and Farsi/Dari. If you require support in a different language, arrangements can be made.
