The full name of the day commemorating the victims of the Holocaust is “Yom Hashoah Ve-Hagevurah“– literally the “Day of (Remembrance of) the Holocaust and the Heroism.” It is marked on the 27th day in the month of Nisan — a week after the seventh day of Passover, and a week before Yom Hazikaron (Memorial Day for Israel’s fallen soldiers).  The day commemorates the six million Jews murdered in the Holocaust, and the heroism of survivors and rescuers.

Line Drawing Competition - M. Clottey: With a final score of 65 points in the Line Drawing Competition final last Thursday, The Dingle Berries took home the gold! Team Magbee just came up short of defending their crown, finishing with a final score of 63, taking the silver. Finally, the Classy Whales walked away with the bronze finishing with 60.5 points. A special thanks to judges Adara, Chloe, Mikaela, Fergus and Evie who dedicated their time to make some tough decisions throughout! Also, a big thanks to all those involved who helped the competition run smoothly!

Office - A Jewish person is someone who identifies culturally or religiously with Judaism and the Jewish community. Hebrew is the language used in the traditional religious texts. It is also the common language used by Jewish people around the world and in Israel today. One can greet and say farewell to a person by saying shalom which means peace.
