Bowmore Road PS - Washroom Policy
Dear Staff, Students, and Families,
To support a safe and respectful school environment, we are implementing updates to our washroom use policy across the school:
Washroom Use Guidelines
- During instructional time, students in the Senior Building (Grades 7–8) must use the washrooms on their assigned floors.
- During lunch and recess, all students must use the first-floor washrooms only (JI -senior building and Primary - Primary building (basement), where supervision will be in place.
- Doors 8 and 14 will be supervised by staff during lunch and recess to ensure that students remain in supervised areas only. Hall monitors will be on the first floor of the senior building.
- Students must use the entrance associated with their classroom when entering or exiting the school.
- Sign-out sheets will be used in every class and are to be implemented immediately:
- Grades 7–8: One student may leave at a time.
- Grades 1–6: Students must use the washroom with a partner.
We also ask students to help maintain a safe and clean space by reporting any vandalism, missing soap, or paper products to their teacher or a hall monitor as soon as possible. Staff will ensure this is communicated to our caretaking team.
Thank you for your cooperation and support as we reinforce student safety and shared responsibility.
5 Washroom Rules for Students
Use the washroom closest to your classroom during class time.
Always sign out before leaving and sign in when you return.
Only one Grade 7–8 student per class. Grades 1–6 go with a partner.
Tell a teacher or hall monitor if you notice any damage or missing supplies.
Respect the space – keep it safe, clean and leave it ready for others.
