Monday, May 5, 2025 - Day 5

Hello Bowmore!

Office - May is Speech and Hearing Month.
People with hearing differences may use a variety of hearing technology to help them hear better, such as hearing aids, cochlear (COKE-lee-er) implants, and bone anchored hearing aids and implants; however some people with hearing differences do not use any hearing technology at all.  We respect everyone’s right to choose how they hear.

Mr. Seater - Sr. Boys Slo Pitch: Bowmore Red will be practicing today after school. If it is raining we will be in the senior gym. Everyone is expected to be there. Bowmore White will be practicing Wednesday at Lunch on the baseball diamond.

Office - This is our Caring and Safe Message for the day. This week is Children’s Mental Health Week, and our theme across the TDSB is “Unmasking Mental Health.” It’s a time to talk about how we feel, how we take care of ourselves, and how we support each other. At Bowmore, we are committed to making every day a mentally healthy day. All week, we’ll share ways to support our wellness and remind each other that it's okay to ask for help. Your feelings matter, and you are never alone.

Ms. Kollias - Sr. Girls Slo-Pitch: A reminder to the Sr. Girls Slo-Pitch team of our practice tomorrow morning at 8am. See you all there!

Mr. Hopkin - Flag Rugby: We are starting our Flag Rugby practices after school today! Please make sure you are dressed and ready to go from 3.40 on the fields. Please make sure your parents or guardians have signed the EMA forms.
See you on the field!

Ms. Jarvis and MS. Reid - Silver Birch: THere is a mandatory Silver Birch forest of reading meeting at lunch today. Come to the library after you eat your  lunch.

Office - May 5 is known as Red Dress Day. It's a special day when we remember and honour Indigenous women, girls, and Two-Spirit people who are missing or have been harmed. Red dresses are symbols to help us remember those individuals and show that we care. Red is chosen because it's a powerful colour that represents love and strength. By wearing red or seeing these dresses, we show support and say that every person matters. Let's take a moment today to think about kindness, respect, and how we can help make our community a safe and caring place for everyone.

Have a wonderful day of learning!
