#FHCI40forTerry

This year, the Terry Fox Foundation is celebrating the 40th anniversary of his Marathon of Hope. Terry Fox was a Canadian athlete, humanitarian, and cancer research activist. With one leg having been amputated due to cancer, he embarked on an east to west cross-Canada run to raise money and awareness for cancer research. FHCI would like to continue our annual tradition of supporting the Terry Fox Foundation in this year’s #FHCI40forTerry fundraiser events.

FHCI’s Athletic Council is encouraging our FHCI community to join in this year’s fundraising activities to raise $4000. This can be done in two ways:

1.  Toonies for Terry- Please donate $2 (or multiples of $2) through Cash Online by December 9, 2020. All monies raised will be forwarded to the Terry Fox Foundation.

  • Running, walking or skipping for 40 min
  • Trying to get 40, 000 steps in one day
  • Do 40 reps of 40 exercises.

For large sum donations requiring a tax receipt, donations can be made directly to:https://secure.terryfox.ca/registrant/TeamFundraisingPage.aspx?TeamID=911190 (Click on "DONATE” and then complete online donation info)

2.  In addition to a donation, and in the spirit of a Terry Fox Run, students are encouraged to join Athletic Council members in the #FHCI40forTerry Challenge on Tuesday, December 8 or Wednesday, December 9, 2020.

At home, students can join our FHCI Athletic Council members as they complete a #FHCI40forTerry challenge. Some challenge activities include:
