Welcome to the New School Year Letter and Alteration to our Entrance and Dismissal Procedures
Please click here for a letter from Principal Taylor welcoming the community to a new school year and explaining some changes to the school's entrance and dismissal procedures due to the contstruction. Grade 1 - 6 students will be meeting their teachers on the south field and entering through the gym doors and they will be dismissed to the same location at the end of the day. We will continue using the field location until we are convinced that the Door 5 entrance is safe for students, families, and staff. Kindergarten students will use the procedures as outlined by their respective teachers and communicated to the families.

Please click here for the Givins/Shaw lunchroom procedures form, which is also the form that allows for Grade 5 and 6 students to eat their lunch in a location away from the school. Mandatory TDSB forms to Start the School Year
At the start of the school year, the TDSB will be sending out an email to all families for whom they have an email address. The email will contain a link to the mandatory forms that the families of all TDSB students are expected to complete. If the technology works as it is supposed to, families should be able to complete the forms on line, the school will be informed electronically that the forms have been completed, and no hard copy would need to be returned to the school.
However, in case there is a glitch in the program, or if the TDSB does not have your current email, please feel free to click here for the mandatory forms for TDSB students. As you will see, we have included a pdf of the forms which you could then print, complete, and send in with your child to be delivered to the home room teacher.
Again, hopefully the on-line program works as expected, and the paper versions are not necessary. If you do need to complete hard copies of the forms, it would be appreciated if parents could complete them and return them to their child's home room teacher by Friday, September 6, 2019.

Our Caring and Safe Schools Committee (which consists of Givins/Shaw staff and parents) has worked diligently to create our school's Anaphylaxis Plan which has been designed so that all of our students can fully engage in all aspects of school life. We have shared this plan with our staff and are pleased to make it available for our community. Please click here for a copy of our Anaphylaxis Plan.
