Head Start to High School – Orientation for Incoming Grade 9 Students | Wednesday, August 27, 2025

Dear Future Malvernites and Families/Guardians,

We are excited to invite our incoming Grade 9 students to Head Start to High School, a one-day orientation program designed to support a smooth and confident transition into high school life at Malvern Collegiate Institute.

Event Details:
Date: Wednesday, August 27, 2025
Time: 8:45 a.m. – approximately 3:00 p.m.

Overview of Schedule – August 27th

  • 08:45 – 09:15 | Registration
  • 09:15 – 09:30 | Auditorium – Welcome & Overview of the Day
  • 09:35 – 10:35 | Session #1
  • 10:40 – 11:40 | Session #2
  • 11:45 – 12:30 | Lunch (BBQ on Tennis Courts)
  • 12:30 – 12:40 | Auditorium – Peer Leaders gather their groups for Session #3
  • 12:45 – 01:45 | Session #3
  • 01:50 – 02:15 | Auditorium – Closing Remarks & Dismissal


Location: Malvern Collegiate Institute

Who Should Attend:
This program is intended for incoming Grade 9 students only. Orientation and transition support for new students entering Grades 10 to 12 will be provided during the first week of school.

What to Expect:
Students will engage in a variety of sessions led by Malvern staff and student leaders. Activities will include:

  • Tips for academic success

  • Team-building and wellness exercises

  • A guided school tour

  • An introduction to student life at Malvern
     

Additional Information:
Students should dress comfortably and be prepared for physical activity. As some sessions will take place outdoors, we recommend bringing a water bottle, sunscreen, and a hat.

🍔 BBQ lunch will be provided.
