Welcome back! We hope the break offered a chance to rest and recharge. With culminating tasks soon to be underway and exams coming up quickly, these next few weeks are an important time to stay organized and reach out for support if needed. We’re looking forward to helping students finish the semester with confidence and care.

  • Please reference the semester 1 exam schedule to support you in preparing for final examinations.
  • School Messenger PIN: To maintain the security of Safe Arrival absence reporting, parents and guardians can set up a Personal Identification Number (PIN) for each student. This PIN can be used when reporting and explaining absences by phone. Parents and guardians can register through the SchoolMessenger mobile app or via the website at go.schoolmessenger.ca

    • Jan 14: PLAR (Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition) Challenge Info Session - 7:00pm-8:30pm
    • Jan 14: Mental Health Exam Anxiety Workshop- grade 10-12 in the library at lunch

    • Jan 15/16- Dealing with exam anxiety- Presentation to Grade 9 students

FROM STUDENT SUCCESS

  • Night School Credit Recovery and Remedial Math: Students who have previously attempted a course but received a final mark between 1-49% may be eligible to earn their credit through Credit Recovery Night School.  For the list of available courses, click hereStudents may sign up to recover up to a maximum of 2 credits.

New this year, students interested in signing up for math credit recovery must participate in a Remedial model.  For more information, click here.

Space in these programs is limited; early sign-up is recommended.  The registration deadline is Friday, January 30, 2026.

  • Credit Rescue During Exams: During the exam period, students may be asked to work with Student Success Teachers on assignments to help with credit completion.  This initiative is called ‘Complete Not Repeat’.  The request to attend will be sent through email by Lisa Bourgard.  
  • Dual Credits: The registration period for Semester 2 Dual Credits is still open.  Please speak to Ms. Bourgard for more information or to apply.

FROM SPECIAL EDUCATION

  • IEP Accommodations During Exams: Accommodation arrangements must be made in advance of the exam period.  Students will access accommodations by speaking to their classroom teacher(s) just as they have throughout the term.  The final date for memory aids to be submitted for teacher review is Monday, January 19th.  The cafeteria will be the alternative space during the exam period.
