A Message from your School Council:
It is the beginning of another school year, and that means getting involved to make sure you can support your student in partnership with the Malvern administration.
We are thrilled to kick off the recruitment for this year's parent council. We meet 6 times per year, generally once a month with some breaks. At each meeting, we discuss the priorities of the school community and make plans to help support each and every student. We also try to have fun, and plan social events together, which have been very popular!
The Principal and a teacher representative attend every meeting, so this is a great way for you to be a full partner in your student's time at Malvern. If you would like to join council in a voting member role, please self-nominate using the google form that was sent out by the office on September 9th.
Your responsibilities as a voting member include attending 80% of the meetings and voting on key items like the parent council budget (voted in November). Once the council is established via this self-nomination system (or election if needed), an executive team will be formed. This team will comprise of a chair/co-chair, a secretary/co-secretary and a treasurer/co-treasurer. At the first meeting in September, the outgoing council will officially hand over to the new one.
If you would like to be involved but don't want to be a voting member, you can still attend all the meetings. Our first meeting is September 22nd at 7 pm in the library. Hope to see you there!
