Another big thank you to the Norway school community for helping us reach our goal of $2000. Just after the assembly last Friday, a few donors tipped the scale to reach and surpass the $2000 mark for a total of $2050! Keep skipping and keep staying active and involved!
Asian Heritage Month
The TDSB has proudly recognized Asian Heritage Month since 2007. Our 2025 theme, Asian Canadians Up and Rising, celebrates the strength, resilience, and achievements of Asian Canadian communities. Jewish Heritage Month
Jewish Heritage Month is a chance to recognize the social, economic, political, and cultural contributions of Jewish Canadians. TDSB's Jewish Heritage Committee is celebrating Jewish heritage this May with impactful, innovative, and inspirational opportunities for students. Learn more.
Speech and Hearing Month
The month of May is Speech and Hearing month. As a way to acknowledge students with a hearing difference, and to promote awareness and inclusion, we will be making short announcements in the Norway Daily Morning Announcements.
Saliva Testing Program Coming to an End
After a long year, we are nearing the end of the respiratory viral season, which also means the end of the Saliva Testing Program at Norway for the 2024-2025 school year. We will be offering the program until May 12th. Thank you to those who have participated and helped out with the research at SickKids.
Respiratory Viral Season Winding Down
Between April 6 to April 12, 2025, the percentages of people testing positive for COVID-19, Influenza, and RSV in Ontario are:
- COVID-19: 2.5%
- Influenza: 9.2%
- RSV: 1.0%
Public Health Ontario expects that the activity of COVID-19 and Influenza will continue to decrease over the next two weeks. RSV activity is expected to remain stable. Please find linked here the April Newsletter from SickKids Saliva Testing Program.
Upcoming Parent/Guardian/Caregiver Engagement Session: Strategies and resources to support students with ADHD
TDSB Special Education and Inclusion will host a session to explore strategies and resources to support students diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. For more details see this flyer.

Tick Safety
Ticks are a common concern during warmer months, and blacklegged ticks have been found in Toronto, and are established here. It's crucial to know how to identify and safely remove them. We encourage you to familiarize yourself with tick removal and identification procedures, which can be found via the Toronto Public Health website. You can also visit Health Canada’s website for learning resources about ticks including interactive games for children. If you have any concerns or questions regarding ticks or tick-related incidents, we urge you to contact Toronto Public Health for further assistance and information.
