An interactive game showcasing the perspectives of peoples living in Canada in the late 1800's, and also highlighting settlement patterns of the westward expansion of Canada.  Students role-play as Ontario born settlers enticed to settle the central and western reaches of Canada via the Canadian Pacific Railway.  Students explore the property looking for settlements that are ideal for harvesting a certain resource (grain, livestock, minerals or lumber) and mark settlements on GPS units to claim them.  Students can cash in their settlements for resources but must be wary of Riel's Rebellion who are already settled in the area and may take resources away from them if they cannot hire British soldiers to protect them.  This program immerses students in the various perspectives of the communities in early Canada.
