Time of year: Spring
Half Day Program
During this program, students will learn about the chemical composition of Maple sap and syrup and use equipment such as refractometers to measure sugar content. Students will also have an opportunity to tap trees, collect sap, observe traditional First Nations and early settlers' "boiling down" methods, and see small scale evaporation techniques. They will also get an opportunity to taste maple syrup made on site, from the previous year!
Unfortunately, the Maple Syrup bush is not wheelchair accessible.
