Food Energy Game

Conservation of Energy - Where Does Your Food Come From?

Through an active product-tracing activity, students will discover the process of food, beginning with the plant and farmer, ending with packaging, transportation and consumption.
Grade 5 Science and Technology: Understanding Matter and Energy:
Overall Expectation: Students will:

analyze the long-term impacts on society and the environment of human uses of energy and natural resources, and suggest ways to reduce these impact;

conduct investigations that explore the properties of matter and changes in matter.

Learning Goals:
I can explain how our food choices have an impact on our environment
I can use this activity to help me understand how my choices impact my world

Success Criteria:
I explained how the transportation of our food and other goods impact the environment
