As with any TDSB school, your child’s safety is a priority. During the day, the students are supervised by teachers, outdoor education specialists and university interns.
The Island Natural Science School staff have current first aid training and are very familiar with all policies, procedures, codes of behaviour and rules of the TDSB.
Each group of 10 to 15 students are led by a minimum of two staff while involved in program. Four Island School staff plus the teachers from the visiting school will provide overnight supervision.
The school has 24-hour caretaking staff, modern fire alarms, a sprinkler system and door alarms for each dorm.
A fire station, ambulance and paramedics are located on the Island.
