Technological Studies

Birchmount Park's Technology department covers 5 areas of learning. This allows students to make and follow their goals and widen their growth in different fields. Our Wood Shop teaches students to safety use many different machines and tools that they will very likely use throughout their lifetime. Gaining confidence with this equipment leads to possible future work experience and more importantly the ability to use these types of tools and equipment for personal use as well.

The Auto Shop gives students an opportunity to learn much more about their vehicles as well as general repairs that many people can do on their own. The idea is that these students gain confidence in themselves and working on their vehicles.

Our Machine Shop is another confidence building area. Students work on a variety of projects requiring metal as their primary material. In addition, we are also teaching welding skills to many students that may give more opportunities for their future. Our Design and Drafting department has 25 new laptops with up to date programs designed to give students a better grasp of the design process.
