Essential Skills Upgrading
ESU (Essential Skills Upgrading) formally known as LBS (Literacy and Basic Skills) provides Academic upgrading in reading, writing, mathematics and digital technology. It is for adults, who wish to improve their literacy and math in order to complete their OSSD, enter training, obtain employment or enhance personal growth and independence. It is a non-credit program for English speaking adults, 19 and over. Classes are full-time, part-time, day or evening in over 30 locations throughout the city.

Hairstyling Apprenticeship Program
ALC Training and Development offers the In-School training for Hairstyling apprenticeship. Through this program, students are prepared to challenge the Certificate of Qualification Examination for Hairstylists in Ontario and to be successful in this competitive industry through the provision of theoretical instruction in techniques such as cutting, styling, colouring physiology, hygiene and salon management and gain practical hands-on experience.

Non-Credit English As A Second Language (ESL) Program
We have both full-time (25 hours) and part-time (12.5 hours) classes, depending on availability. We base our instruction on the Canadian Language Benchmarks system for language proficiency, the national standard for second-language learners of English in Canada. School year runs from September to June.
Registration is every day from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in room 315.
Classes Include:
Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, and ESL Computer
