Science Department

Discover, Experiment, Innovate! Our Science Department is passionate about sparking curiosity and inspiring a love for science in every student. We are committed to helping learners master scientific concepts, think critically, and explore the world through a scientific lens. Our teachers bring energy and expertise to the classroom, creating rich, authentic learning experiences where every student feels engaged, valued, and included.

We embrace diverse ideas, perspectives, and knowledge systems to make science meaningful for all. Through dynamic teaching methods and hands-on activities—such as design challenges, experiments, demonstrations, labs, dissections, and technology integration—students experience science in action. Real-life applications and current societal issues are woven into the curriculum, encouraging students to connect what they learn to the world around them.

Grade 9:  Science Starts Here!

Our Science Department is passionate about sparking curiosity and inspiring students to explore the world through a scientific lens. Our grade 9 learners master concepts in biology, chemistry, physics, and Earth and space science, while connecting science to technology, society, and the environment.

Students don’t just learn science—they do science. Through hands-on experiments and scientific investigations, they develop and refine their STEM skills. They learn to apply research, experimentation, and problem-solving strategies to real-life situations that matter to their lives and communities.

As they progress, students build critical thinking, creativity, and transferable skills, becoming scientifically literate global citizens ready to tackle the challenges of tomorrow.

Grades 10 through 12 Science: Building Knowledge, Opening Doors

Our Grade 10 Science program provides a strong foundation in biology, chemistry, physics, and Earth and space science, helping students explore core concepts while connecting science to technology, society, and the environment. This course is designed to guide students in determining which areas of scientific study—biology, chemistry, or physics—they may choose to pursue in Grades 11 and 12.

As students progress into senior science courses, they deepen their understanding through investigation, experimentation, and engineering design processes, applying knowledge to real-world situations that matter to their lives and communities. These experiences strengthen STEM skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities, preparing students for future academic and career success.

Many of our graduates go on to study science and math at university and build rewarding careers in healthcare, engineering, business, kinesiology, and computer programming. Our dedicated science teachers are committed to student success through engaging instruction, extra help, and ongoing support—ensuring every learner has the tools to thrive.
