Helping Every Student Thrive - Your Success Starts Here!
At Forest Hill Collegiate, our Student Success Team is dedicated to supporting students who need extra help to reach their full potential. The team meets monthly to review progress, create personalized support plans, and monitor student achievement. Our team includes administrators, student success teachers, guidance counselors, special education teachers, and subject teachers—all working together to ensure every student feels supported and engaged in their high school experience.
Our Goal
To provide students with the tools and strategies they need to succeed academically while fostering a positive and inclusive school environment.
Key Initiatives
- Credit Recovery: Students who have been unsuccessful in a course may have the opportunity to recover the credit in a future semester or school year. Selection is based on achievement, attendance, and overall credit accumulation.
- Credit Rescue: Subject teachers offer opportunities for students to complete missed or incomplete assignments during the semester to “rescue” a credit that may be at risk.
- Transition Support: We help students navigate key transitions—from Grade 8 to Grade 9 and from Grade 12 to post-secondary or the workplace. Initiatives include Grade 8 intake meetings, Head Start to High School, Grade 9 Curriculum Information Evening, and career/post-secondary planning for graduating students.
- Cookies & Rescue: Need help catching up on assignments? Join our Peer Tutoring Program for academic support in all subject areas—plus some sweet treats! We organize sessions with subject teachers and peer tutors to give students the help they need.
Student ambition. Our support. Excellence starts here!
