Welcome Back!!! We are looking forward to a great year with a full range of learning opportunities and activities designed to challenge each student and staff member to grow together in a “community of learners” environment.
The Toronto District School Board’s mission is to enable all students to reach high levels of achievement and to acquire the knowledge, skills, and values necessary to become responsible members of a democratic society. In keeping with this mission statement, we offer a wide range of programs focusing on academics, the arts and athletics and high expectations that require that each student be punctual, prepared, well organized and dedicated to learning and self-improvement to ensure the maximum benefit from each school day.
Communication between the home and school is essential for continual student progress and it is for this reason we emphasize the use of student agenda books, school newsletters, notices, and our school website. This Student Handbook together with the Agenda is designed to provide you with information regarding our school expectations, rules and routines. These policies and procedures have been developed, approved and revised giving much thought to safety, accountability, prevention and equity. If you are unsure about how things are done at Iroquois Junior Public School, please read this handbook or don’t be afraid to ask any staff member! You will also find many excellent study and organizational tips included in this agenda. We encourage you to take the first few weeks to read and explain these policies to your children, and use it through the year to review them.
We look forward to our continued partnership in providing consistency and reinforcing our commitment to a safe, welcoming and respectful learning environment for all. When we all work together to support one another in a positive, respectful and productive manner, the possibilities for improvements and success are immense.
There are many amazing things already in action at Iroquois Junior Public School.
