About Our Math Programs
We offer a math program featuring destreamed Grade 9 and 10 courses that promote equitable outcomes for all learners, along with Grades 11-12 courses designed to support practical life skills and the highest academic math standards, catering to various post-secondary pathways. Our department also takes part in several mathematical competitions organized by the University of Waterloo. In today’s digital age, we are committed to employing the best teaching practices, ensuring that students are proficient with essential educational technology tools and online learning platforms to enhance their learning experience and success.

Contest:  Pascal, Cayley, and Fermat (PCF) by University of Waterloo

Grades Participation: Grade 9 - 11

Contest Date: Wednesday, Feb 25, 2026

Deadline to Register: February 9, 2026 at 11:59 PM

While our Math Department at SCI is effectively preparing students to master mathematical skills through our courses, we strongly encourage all students to participate in offered math contests. This will tremendously help with enhancing math skills and provide more opportunities for success with standardized tests in the secondary and post-secondary pathways.

Math Support for Students

All math teachers are committed to supporting our students' learning by offering additional help throughout the week. Teachers are available at various times -- morning, lunch, and after school -- on a daily basis to provide the extra support students need to succeed.
