Time of Year: Fall and Spring

Explore the plants and animals that live in our woodlot by discovering the variety of homes and structures that animals build for their families. In this activity, students will have an opportunity to build their own animal homes in the morning, and then to discover the natural beauty of trees by making colourful bark and leaf rubbings in the afternoon. Using Eric Carle’s illustrations as inspiration, you may use these works of art to create a mixed-media tree collage back at school.
