Habitats and Communities

Habitats and Communities

Time of Year: September-October and May-June

The emphasis of this program is on wildlife and its habitat…the earth. Learners will have a chance to look at why animals are important in this world and what problems face them today. Learners will be involved in a number of simulated activities where they actually role-play these beautiful creatures. They will also have the opportunity to discover mosquito-eating dragonfly nymphs and upside-down backswimmers living in our pond community. Using dip nets and sieves, they will catch, examine, identify and release a sample of pond dwellers. Learners should wear boots for this activity.
